The Great Barrier Reef is a realistic day trip from this ramp. Closer reef systems like the inshore shoals are 20–40 minutes out. You're not driving 4 hours to the launch point — you're sleeping 5 minutes from it.

From Gladstone: ~1hr drive south via the Dawson Highway to Turkey Beach Road. From Bundaberg: ~2hrs north.
Turkey Beach is remote — ~75km to the nearest major store. Stock up on food, bait, ice, and fuel in Seventeen Seventy, Agnes Water, or Gladstone before you head out.
Linen, full kitchen, 2 BBQs, bar fridge (1,100L), chest freezer, filleting station, solar power, Wi-Fi, Netflix, laundry, and the biggest deck you've ever had a beer on. BYO towels.
Rodds Harbour boat ramp is approximately 5 minutes from the property. Deepwater harbour — no tidal restrictions, no coastal bar. Launch and retrieve 24/7.
In heavy rain, the last section of the driveway can get soft. Check conditions with Alan before towing in wet weather — he'll give you the honest answer and a workaround if needed.
